According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Union Food Safety Authority (EFSA) issued an opinion on calcium phosphate oligosaccharides (POs-Ca®) as a source of calcium in food, food supplements, and foods for special medical purposes.
POs-Ca® is the calcium salt of phosphate oligosaccharide derived from potato starch. POs-Ca® is stable under the temperature and pH conditions used in the production of chewing gum, hard candy, sugar-free soft candy and apple juice.
After evaluation, the EU Food Safety Authority expert group believes that calcium phosphate oligosaccharide (POs-Ca®) is safe for use in food, food supplements, and foods for special medical purposes as a calcium source, and it is a better calcium supplement. .
